Damn, I thought that was it.LogMeIn Pro filehippo is a leading, reliable remote access tool for entrepreneurs and small businesses. I thought maybe that's my problem so I just tried RD again using my email as the user and still no go. I have no idea how that happened if I had been asked for a username I would not have put in my email, that's the default BUT, the username is not my name like I thought, it's my email address. I just now confirmed the obvious, I am admin on this system. I just followed the instructions during that and haven't changed anything since.

Years ago and I did the full install, to give me a clean system.

A bit more background, I bought this machine used with Win 7 on it then did the free update to 10 a couple

My only concern is that seems like a lot of stuff to do just for this but I'll do it if necessary. Thank you for the detailed reply, I appreciate it. Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.Īre you using a Microsoft account to login? What gets me is I can already log into my office computer so I think I understand how RD should work. After reading some online articles I also tried using my ISP's SSID and used my password with them and that didn't work either. I get the message "Your credentialsĭon't work".

I'm assuming that's the same password t I put in the login window when the computer boots up. Type in zotac, type in my name, hit Connect, it goes to the login page that asks for my password of the PC I'm logging into. PC 2's name is the default from when I bought it. I make sure the office connection is shut down before I try connecting to PC 2. When I try to use that same computer toĬonnect to PC 2 in my house, no go. I already have RD installed on PC 1 and use it to connect to my office. I have two computers in my house both using Ethernet cables connected to a powered switch. With that out of the way here's the my situation: Those answers did not apply to my situation at all. The answers there are all about IT people, office networks and Windows Server 2013. That's all I saw on TechNet concerning this question. I'm not an IT pro and I have nothing to do with Windows Server. RD is advertised for the average user to simply long in to home from their laptop or something. Nowhere does it say it's only for Enterprise use or IT pro's or any of that.

Remote Desktop is part of Windows 10 Pro. He says this forum is basically for home users, not pro users or something. I have read several question on this forum about this and the moderator keeps referring people to the TechNet Forum.
